Abstract
This study was performed to find out individual- and health-related factors and social assistance as job satisfaction, physical conditions, behavior and loyalty to institutions that might cause stresses under the working environments, A survey was conducted to 890 radiological technologists who were working at 44 general hospitals in 16 cities and provinces. in Korea, from the mid July to the end of August 2003. For this purpose, some factors were analyzed by multiple linear regression analysls and compared by regions among capital, metropolitan, medium and small cities, whose results are as follows: 1. Salary, colleagues, smoking, age, friends, families and position affected job satisfaction, particularly more significantly in the capital city than other regions. In all regions, supervisors mainly affected job satisfaction of radiological technologists (p<0.001). 2. It was shown that age, supervisors and colleagues were responsible for causing stress to radiological technologists. In metropolitan cities, age was the factor causing them to feel stressful while colleagues played the same role in the capital city. Spouses, friends and family members altogether influenced them in all regions (p<0.001). 3. Individual- and health-related factors and social assistance appeared to have little impact on their behavior, except for drinking solely (p<0.05). 4. Individual- and health-related factors and social assistance weren¡¯t all that influenced the loyalty of radiological technologists to institutions, although they were affected by religion more mostly in metropolitan cities than other cities. Both salary and religion commonly nfluenced them (p<0.05).
